TEHRAN - Yahya Rahim Safavi, a senior advisor to the Supreme Leader on military affairs, said on Wednesday that a coalition of Iran, Russia, Syria, and Hezbollah liberated the Syrian city of Aleppo from terrorists.

During a ceremony held in Kharazmi University, he said Mosul will also be liberated soon.

The Syrian government has established control over eastern Aleppo, Vitaly Churkin, Russia’s ambassador to the UN, told the UN Security Council on Tuesday.

Safavi, the former IRGC chief, also said the U.S. has become well aware that Iran is the “first power” in the region.
